United Way and Dolphin Digital Media Launch Ground-Breaking Literacy and Philanthropy Website for Children

New Website Features Entertainment and Gaming to Engage Kids and Make Learning Fun

WASHINGTON, Aug. 2, 2013 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — United Way Worldwide and Dolphin Digital Media (OTCBB:DPDM) have launched “Club Connect,” a multi-faceted membership web platform designed to promote literacy and philanthropy among the nation’s children.

“Club Connect” features engaging options for kids and their families to learn and have fun, including celebrity book readings, cool games, exciting contests, valuable coupons, family-friendly volunteer activities, and inspirational stories of kids making a difference to inspire community service.

United Way and Dolphin Digital Media have also partnered with the National Association of Elementary School Principals (NAESP) Foundation to bring “Club Connect” to elementary and middle schools nationwide, beginning with the upcoming 2013-2014 school year. With the assistance of the NAESP Foundation, “Club Connect” will be promoted in schools across the country, including through service learning and student leadership programs.

“Club Connect is an opportunity for all of us who care about education — parents, schools, communities and partners — to work together to make reading fun and to encourage a type of engagement that will have a ripple effect not just on the next generation but for generations to come,” said Brian Gallagher, President and CEO of United Way Worldwide. “To create lasting change and improve education in our county, we need to work together.”

An annual membership to “Club Connect” costs $15, while the purchaser receives more than $500 worth of coupons and product discounts throughout the year. Over 80% of all proceeds will go directly to the individual schools which run the program, the NAESP Foundation to support local educational programs, and United Way’s Read Learn Succeed campaign aimed at increasing elementary school reading scores across the country to reduce the high school dropout rate by half. According to the National Assessment of Educational Progress, 60 percent of all third graders in the U.S. are not reading proficiently, and 25 percent of high school students fail to graduate on time.

“We all agree that literacy is essential for our current and future generations,” said Gail Connelly, Executive Director of the National Association of Elementary School Principals. “That is why we are so enthusiastic about our collaboration with United Way to bring this groundbreaking program to thousands of schools. Through participation in Club Connect, not only will students enhance their own learning and literacy in fun and engaging ways, they will also be introduced to the value of doing good in a wider sense, through the power and reach of philanthropy. It’s a triple win: for our children, our schools and our communities across the nation.”

“Children today are simply more tech savvy than any previous generation, and they are increasingly online for longer periods every day,” said Bill O’Dowd, CEO of Dolphin Digital Media. “When designing a program for lasting success that has such important goals for the children in the program and for the country as a whole, we simply need to win in this new digital arena. We strongly believe in the mission of United Way’s Read Learn Succeed and look forward to the positive impact the program will have in the lives of children in our country for years to come.”

Anthony E. Zuiker’s Digital Blockbuster Cybergeddon Set to Premiere Globally on Tuesday, September 25, Exclusively on Yahoo!

Official Trailer Now Live at cybergeddon.yahoo.com

Cybergeddon Stars Olivier Martinez (Unfaithful) and Missy Peregrym (Rookie Blue)

LOS ANGELES, Sept. 6, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Anthony E. Zuiker, the visionary creator of the CSI franchise, and his production company Dare to Pass in partnership with market leader Dolphin Digital Studios announced today the official worldwide premiere date, September 25, for Cybergeddon, a new digital blockbuster about the growing threat of cybercrime starring Olivier Martinez and Missy Peregrym. Today also marks the release of the official trailer now live at cybergeddon.yahoo.com.

Cybergeddon follows the story of agent Chloe Jocelyn as she investigates a slew of seemingly unrelated cyberattacks with fellow agent Frank Parker and incarcerated master hacker Chase ‘Rabbit’ Rosen. Chloe and her team must crack the worldwide cybercrime ring led by Gustov Dobreff before it is too late. In a world where everyone is connected, everyone is at risk.

Cybergeddon will debut exclusively in over 25 countries and 10 languages on Yahoo! in a series of nine digital chapters – three per day over the course of three consecutive days.

The experience on Yahoo! includes an immersive site featuring additional clips that provide a deeper narrative with the characters, exclusive on-set photos, behind-the-scenes clips and interviews with the cast and crew. It will also host a special section where people can go to learn more about the stark realities of cybercrime.

Zuiker, Bill O’Dowd, CEO of Dolphin Digital Studios, and the film’s creators made a firm commitment to ensuring the storytelling around Cybergeddon was not only highly compelling and suspenseful, but also inspired by real-life cybersecurity concerns. To that end, the Zuiker team partnered with online security expert Norton by Symantec throughout the creative process to lend technical insights.

Cybergeddon is a cinematic experience that breaks traditional rules. With the global distribution arm of Yahoo!, we will give viewers a way to have more to do after watching the segments to gain more knowledge and further interact with the storyline and cast,” said Zuiker. “The best part is that all of this can be experienced on any device, anytime and anywhere, day and date with the launch of Cybergeddon.”

Cybergeddon is a first-of-its-kind film co-produced, distributed and financed by Dolphin Digital Studios in a deal brokered and packaged by Creative Artists Agency (CAA).

Yahoo! to Unveil Visionary Storyteller Anthony E. Zuiker’s Innovative New Media Franchise “Cybergeddon”

First-of-Its-Kind Motion Picture Event From Dolphin Digital Studios to Break Film Distribution Model With Global Release on Yahoo!

Norton by Symantec Lends Authenticity and Accuracy to Script With Real Life Insights Into the World of Cybercrime

MIAMI, March 30, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Anthony E. Zuiker, the visionary creator of the CSI franchise and his production company Dare to Pass, and Yahoo! Inc, the premier digital media company, today announced that casting and production will officially begin on the much anticipated “Cybergeddon” project, a groundbreaking motion picture event which will bring to life the growing threat of cybercrime. Written by Miles Chapman (“The Tomb”), “Cybergeddon” executive producers include Anthony E. Zuiker, Matthew Weinberg, President, Dare to Pass and Bill O’Dowd, CEO, Dolphin Digital Studios. True to his storytelling form, Zuiker has engaged Norton by Symantec to leverage its technical credibility and security insights to help inform and guide the narrative. Progressive financier and distribution company Dolphin Digital Media backed the project in a deal brokered and packaged by Creative Artists Agency (CAA).

“‘Cybergeddon’ is the evolution of the crime genre,” says creator Anthony E. Zuiker. “Through an invaluable partnership with Norton and embracing the forward-thinking vision of Dolphin Digital Media, ‘Cybergeddon’ will be a motion picture event released through Yahoo!’s global online distribution. Instead of opening ‘wide’ at 5000 screens, ‘Cybergeddon’ has the potential to premiere on 50 million online screens all over the world at the same time. This global distribution model is the future of storytelling with unprecedented scale.”

“Cybergeddon” will be launching globally, first on Yahoo! this Fall, as a series of installments to roll out sequentially. “Cybergeddon” will engage Yahoo!’s worldwide audience of 700 million unique visitors, through an immersive storytelling, social media and gaming experience. Yahoo! sets the bar for best-in-class original video programming with 21 out of the top 25 most-watched online series (comScore, US) and captures 61 million unique viewers a month (comScore, US) who come to Yahoo! to watch video. Yahoo! has been making strides in original programming by teaming up with world-class storytellers, starting with ‘Electric City,’ its first original scripted series announcement earlier this year and most recently the roll out of a new comedy slate.

“We’re thrilled to bring a concept like ‘Cybergeddon’ to our audience. Anthony is one of the most prolific and successful storytellers in Hollywood and there is no better home for ‘Cybergeddon’ than Yahoo!,” said Erin McPherson VP & Head of Video at Yahoo!. “Together we have the opportunity to bring this compelling and cutting-edge story exclusively to our users and do it in a way that entertains and informs through an engaging and immersive experience that will truly bring ‘Cybergeddon’ to life.”

With its perceptive foresight and expertise in producing award-winning premium digital properties, Dolphin is poised to introduce “Cybergeddon” to audiences worldwide.

“When you think about what HBO did for television and what Netflix did for video rentals, they were trailblazers of their time,” said Dolphin Digital Studios CEO, Bill O’Dowd. “By bringing together a group of visionaries such as Anthony, Yahoo!, Dolphin, CAA and Norton, you can expect that ‘Cybergeddon’ is going to break new ground for how consumers experience entertainment around the world and across multiple platforms.”

Throughout the creative process, Zuiker engaged Norton by Symantec and its team of experts to inspire, guide and inform some of the technical aspects of cybercrime, including its investigation and prosecution, and to provide real-world insights into how people can protect themselves from digital threats.

“People learn through storytelling and our partnership with Anthony Zuiker in the production of ‘Cybergeddon’ allows us to reach new audiences in a fresh way,” said Sally Jenkins, Vice President, Worldwide Consumer Marketing at Symantec. “Through entertainment and dramatization, ‘Cybergeddon’ will illuminate the serious issue of how our constantly connected lives can be vulnerable to cybercrime, breaches of online privacy and theft.”

Dolphin Digital Media CEO Bill O’Dowd Provides Letter to Shareholders

MIAMI, March 12, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Dolphin Digital Media, Inc. (OTCBB:DPDM) (http://www.dolphindigitalmedia.com) Chief Executive Officer Bill O’Dowd has provided a letter to shareholders:

Dear Shareholders,

As Chairman and CEO of Dolphin Digital Media, I am pleased to provide you with an update on our business.

During the past year, the Company’s focus has primarily been devoted to its new division, Dolphin Digital Studios, which creates original content to premiere online. We feel that we are in the “right place at the right time,” as the rapid acceleration in consumer’s viewing habits online has been very well-documented. Premium online video is the largest growth sector for online advertising, with market leaders such as Yahoo!, Hulu, Netflix, YouTube and AOL recently announcing major initiatives around original programming.

We are dedicated to producing the absolute premium product for this burgeoning new medium for original content. We believe that a never-failing commitment to excellence has allowed us to quickly establish ourselves as a “market leader” digital studio. As evidence of this commitment, and of our ability to attract best-in-class creative and distribution partners, Dolphin Digital Studios’ first two web series have been co-financed through an agreement Warner Bros. Digital Distribution and Dolphin Entertainment. The first titles produced under this agreement are the action-packed high school spy thriller Aim High from multi-talented Executive Producer and Director McG (Director of Charlie’s Angels, Terminator: Salvation and Executive Producer of television series Chuck and Supernatural) and the futuristic survival tale H+: The Digital Series from blockbuster Director / Producer Bryan Singer (Director of X-Men, Superman Returns and The Usual Suspects, and Executive Producer of hit television series House).

The first of these two titles, Aim High, is the story of high school sophomore Nick Green, who is leading a double life — juggling his studies by day and serving as a secret government agent by night. Aim High simultaneously premiered on Facebook and Cambio (AOL’s Teen Site) in October of last year. It is worth mentioning that Aim High represented Facebook’s first social web series from major Hollywood partners. Furthermore, we couldn’t be more proud to report that Aim High won the Writer’s Guild Award for Outstanding Achievement in Writing for Original New Media at the Writer’s Guild Awards ceremony hosted by Joel McHale and Zooey Deschanel on February 19, 2012 in Los Angeles, California. Let me once again take this opportunity to extend our congratulations to our friends, the writers of Aim High, Richie Keen and Heath Corson.

Looking ahead, 2012 will be the first full year of production and distribution for Dolphin Digital Studios. H+ will premiere this summer, and we expect to announce our global distribution partner for this ground-breaking, international thriller very shortly. We will also be making a series of announcements relating to the selection of upcoming web series, to meet our stated goal of 6-8 original productions per year. Dolphin Digital Studios has a full development slate of projects lined up to meet this goal in 2012, many with A-List Hollywood talent in front of and behind the camera. In the near term, we also look forward to having a large presence at the new Digital Content NewFronts conference for the advertising community in New York City in April.

Dolphin Digital Media has also announced its entry into the development of “Kids Clubs,” or online websites to serve as destinations for entertainment and information. We are very excited about this natural progression for our company, as we see the creation of destination content sites as being the natural evolution of — and reward for — building a premium digital content studio. For the Kids Clubs, we will partner with established “brands” in the children’s space, with the mission to expand each brand’s existing online audience through the promotion of original content supplied and/or sourced by Dolphin Digital Studios. Premium entertainment offerings, such as original web series, will serve to both increase audience through positive word-of-mouth and to increase engagement, or length of time on site. Furthermore, the Kids Clubs will serve as the platform for sponsorships and other marketing opportunities, such as contests and sweepstakes. In addition, the Kids Clubs are tremendous marketing vehicles for the respective brands, as they keep the brands “top of mind” for the youngest generation, and in a space (the online world) where they increasingly go.

Dolphin Digital Media partnered with the University of Miami to launch its first kids club, the Coca-Cola Junior Canes Club, in September, 2011. We are excited about our partnership with the University of Miami, and we expect to announce additional partnerships very soon with nationally-recognized children’s organizations with tremendous brand value. The Kids Club business represents a high-growth area for Dolphin Digital Media, and we expect to be fully “in-market” by the upcoming back-to-school season.

Finally, this past year witnessed our hiring of Crowe Horwath as both our auditing firm and tax advisement specialists. We were very pleased to retain such a high caliber nationally-recognized firm as Crowe Horwath, and were also further encouraged by the timely filing of our quarterly reports since we began working together.

We were recently advised that the Depository Trust Company (“DTC”) placed a “chill” on the withdrawal of our common stock by shareholders with brokerage accounts holding shares at the DTC. Shares held in such accounts constitute a minority of our outstanding common stock, but we are concerned for our shareholders who this affects. In an effort to assist such shareholders who have contacted us for guidance in their dispute with their brokers and the DTC, we have contacted the DTC, and have learned that the “chill” was put in place while the DTC conducts an internal review of an alleged attempt in 2010 by three individual shareholders to bribe an individual broker to sell shares of Dolphin Digital Media common stock at inflated prices. Information regarding this alleged bribe has been publicly disclosed by the appropriate authorities, and we at Dolphin Digital Media have no independent knowledge regarding the investigation of these individuals. Although Dolphin Digital Media has no direct relationship with, or authority over, the DTC (a non-profit entity owned by a collection of brokers and clearing houses), and although the DTC has no requirement to keep us informed of the progress of their internal review, we have pledged our full cooperation to the DTC, and have been willing and able to provide any documentation or assistance that will help them conclude their internal review as quickly as possible. We will keep you notified of any updates, if and when we receive them from the DTC.

In summary, we at Dolphin Digital Media are very excited about our future. I would like to thank all of our employees for their never-failing dedication to our commitment of excellence. 2012 has gotten off to a very promising start, with our first web series winning the prestigious Writer’s Guild Award. We have our first full slate of web series in development and pre-production. And, we have launched our first Kids Club, with more on the way.

To our shareholders, I would like to extend a personal “Thank You” for your support of Dolphin Digital Media. I promise you we will work very hard to meet our stated goals, and you can expect to read frequent announcements from us throughout the year to update you on our progress. And, finally, as always, we welcome any communication from you.

                                  All the best,

                                 Bill O’Dowd

                                             CEO

In addition to free admission to sporting events, the University of Miami Athletics Department will also hold exclusive parties and events for the Junior Canes.

Even when Junior Canes Club members are not out cheering for the Hurricanes in person, they will never be far from the action. The Junior Canes Club now offers a fun and unique fan experience online at www.juniorcanesclub.com. The online home is few other college athletic departments can offer. Members can ask their favorite player or coach a question, see exclusive videos and photos from University of Miami athletics, play online games, create and customize their own personal profile page, take fan polls, and much more!

The most unique feature of the enhanced Coca-Cola Junior Canes Club is the fingerprint swipe entry into the club’s website. A USB port fingerprint reader is provided with each membership, and members must swipe their finger to gain access to the online experience. Such a system eliminates the need for passwords, which could be forgotten, lost or stolen. The fingerprint entry system allows for greater user authentication, while helping to eliminate many online dangers, such as cyber-bullying, stolen identities and piracy.

“For families that love sports and the Hurricanes, the revamped Coca-Cola Junior Canes Club provides both first-class entertainment and practical benefits,” said UM Director of Athletics Shawn Eichorst. “Dolphin Digital Media has built a platform that provides a wholesome and fun internet experience around UM athletics, while providing state-of-the-art safeguards that insure the browsing experience is free from inappropriate influences.”

“For me, this is a very special day,” states Bill O’Dowd, CEO of Dolphin Digital Media. “I was born and raised in Miami, and have always been a Hurricanes fan. As a child, I attended UM baseball games with my Mom, and never missed a summer baseball camp. I’m a proud season ticket holder for UM football. So, for me, there was no other choice for which organization we wanted to partner with first, to bring a new standard of online engagement and safety to the next generation of fans of collegiate athletics. I applaud the University of Miami, and its Athletics Department, for taking a leadership role in providing such a fun, smart way to engage with children in the community, while doing so in the safest, most responsible manner.”

A registration fee of $20 provides each Junior Canes Club member with a Welcome Kit, which includes an Official Coca-Cola Junior Canes T-shirt, a membership card, an autographed photo from Sebastian the Ibis, and a fingerprint reader. Each month thereafter is only $9.99, and entitles Junior Canes Club members to the array of benefits, both at sporting events and online, which currently hold over a $400 annual value. There are multi-child discounts, with the second child (and each additional child) per household receiving 50% off the monthly fee (only $4.99 per month per additional child). Furthermore, each Junior Canes Club membership also comes with a free subscription to Dolphin Secure, the new standard in online safety tools for parents.

The Junior Canes Club is open to children 12-years of age and younger.

“H+: The Digital Series” Trailer Available Online

MIAMI, July 28, 2011 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Dolphin Digital Media, Inc. (OTCBB:DPDM) (http://www.dolphindigitalmedia.com) is pleased to announce the trailer for H+: The Digital Series is now available online. The trailer, viewable here http://youtu.be/DlXmsNK_V4k?hd=1, premiered during an exclusive panel at last week’s Comic Con convention in San Diego. Featuring a special message to fans from Executive Producer Bryan Singer (The Usual Suspects, X-Men, X-Men 2, Superman Returns), the panel was attended by over 1,400 fans.

“It was a lot of fun to premiere the trailer for H+: The Digital Series in front of a live audience,” commented Bill O’Dowd, CEO of Dolphin Digital Media and Executive Producer of H+: The Digital Series. “The fans were extremely passionate, and their feedback was overwhelmingly positive and enthusiastic. I can’t tell you how many times I heard `It looks like a feature film,’ which is a great testament to the hard work of the very talented cast and crew. We feel like we have something very special with this production.”

H+: The Digital Series is a sprawling, international, race-against-time thriller to save humanity.  In 2019, 33% of the world’s population will have a piece of nano-technology (HPlus) implanted in the back of their necks, allowing their minds and nervous systems to be connected to the Internet. They rely on HPlus to navigate through their entire lives, as semi-transparent images will flicker across their field of vision. But on February 11th of that year, a mysterious and vicious computer virus is released on the network and, within seconds, the HPlus populace dies, changing the political and social landscape of the planet.  Set in four continents, H+ follows an ensemble cast through interconnected storylines as they fight to survive in a radical new world.

DOLPHIN DIGITAL MEDIA TO PRODUCE HIDING AS NEXT WEB SERIES

MIAMI, July 22, 2011 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Dolphin Digital Media, Inc. (OTCBB: DPDM) (http://www.dolphindigitalmedia.com) is excited to announce that its next digital series, Hiding, will begin principal photography on August 8, 2011 in Alberta, Canada. Hiding will be directed by television veteran Thomas Wright, whose previous work includes multiple episodes of popular television series NCIS, Castle, One Tree Hill, and Smallville.  Dolphin Digital Media CEO Bill O’Dowd will serve as Executive Producer.

Hiding follows the story of Alicia Torres, a high school sophomore, as she is entered into the Witness Protection Program.  Having witnessed her parents’ murder at the hands of the son of a notorious crime boss, Alicia is moved from New York City to Livingston, Montana, and forced to change her identity.  Now “Josephine Russo,” an Italian-American girl from Seattle, Alicia is deprived of all contact with anyone from her former life (no cell phone, no Facebook, no e-mail), and is asked to form a new life for herself in a world far different from her own.  No friends.  No former hobbies.  And absolutely no speaking Spanish.

Hiding, written by Brian Hurwitz, will premiere as a 6-episode web series (10-15 minutes per episode), before being repackaged and sold as a made-for-television movie.

Hiding represents one of the best “high concept ideas” we have seen in a long time,” said Mr. O’Dowd.  “At one level, Hiding is the classic story of a teen love triangle, with Jo having to choose between Jesse, the soulful artist, who represents what Jo has left behind, and Brett, the charming jock, who represents the world Jo has entered.  On another level, Hiding is a thrilling suspense story, as a lethal bounty hunter gets progressively closer to uncovering the truth of Jo’s location.  And at its heart, Hiding asks the fundamental question:  How can Jo learn to be herself … when she can’t be herself?”

“Kudos to Brian for creating and developing such a great story, and with such an engaging and vibrant female lead character,” continued Mr. O’Dowd.  “And we know we couldn’t be in better hands than those of Thomas Wright.  Tom’s recent work is a rare blend of young adult dramas and broad crime stories, the perfect combination for the story of Hiding.  We think we have a special series, and are excited to get started.”

To say that all of us at Dolphin are incredibly excited is the definition of an understatement.”
